Tall Ships Schedule
The Tall Ships participating in Charleston Harbor Fest are not only beautiful, majestic traditionally rigged ships. They are platforms for sail training and homes to captain and crew. Whether it is the Naval ship of Uruguay or the Spirit of Bermuda, the ships serve as training programs and ambassadors for various cultures. The ships are aware of the hours designated for Tall Ship deck tours, however the open hours of each ship may vary depending on their duties and operations aboard the vessel. Not every tall ships is open for deck tours. Please the white boards adjacent to each ship or at the head of the dock for specific hours and anticipated closures. Please see the Event Schedule of this website for all detailed hours of activities during Charleston Harbor Fest.
June 24-25, 2009
• Ships arrive Charleston at various times and dock at the Union Pier Passenger Terminal and the Charleston Maritime Center.
• A Captain’s Reception will officially greet the Captain and Officers of each ship on the evening on June 25.
June 26, 2009
• Various ships open for deck tours from 10:00am-6:00pm
• Tall ship sails aboard the Spirit of South Carolina
• Tall ship sails aboard the Pride of Baltimore II
• Tall ship sunset sail aboard Schooner Virginia
• Crew games
• Tall Ship Atlantic Challenge Awards Presentation
• International Tall Ships Soiree VIP event
June 27, 2009
• Various ships open for deck tours from 10:00am-8:00pm
• Tall ship sails aboard the Spirit of South Carolina
• Tall ship sails aboard the Pride of Baltimore II
June 28, 2009
• Various ships open for deck tours from 10:00am-6:00pm
• Tall ship sails aboard the Spirit of South Carolina
• Tall ship sunset sail aboard the Schooner Virginia
